Graphic Designer Works 85/2000
Design: Gabor Palotai
Gabor Palotai claims that graphic design occupies a space between our thoughts and reality which would otherwise be empty. In his view a strong line figure creates its own individual context, just as a typeface can create its own microcosm and simple pictograms work to unify the behavior of the human population. Born in Hungary in 1956 he lives and works in Sweden, and is renowned for the powerful imagery he creates using the simplest of elements and textures. Maximizing the Audience presents a brilliant body of work created to be recalled. Chapters include Dimensions, Tourism, Textures, Numbers, Elements, Death, Architecture and one devoted to a project completed for Swedish Steel. Categories covered include signage, interactive multimedia, corporate identity, handmade carpets, book design, illustration and photography.
