De Muralt's ambition is to carry out such 'historical' inquiries in the form of a structural analysis of philosophy, which he regards as a rigorous philosophical discipline - that is, as a science.

About the Author: André de Muralt was born in 1931 and is an honorary professor at the University of Geneva. He is the author of several books on the medieval and ancient periods. He also studies Husserl's principles.
