Limited edition of twelve hundred copies, of wich this is number 82. - First Edition in this form (containing stories not included in the trade edition of 'The Garden Party' but being a new selection of her best stories). Large octavo, in very attractive green cloth binding. - Although printed in 1939 the book was only distributed in 1947 by William Collins, due to the advent of the second world war. The coloured illustrations by Marie Laurencin, of pretty young women, are especially attractive. - Minimally rubbed at the extremities but, very sadly, there is an unattractive damp mark at the cerntre of the back board, wich has penetrated to affect the final three leaves. No dustwrapper or slipcase.
